The Johnson brothers, Lucas & Andrew, work well together as a vent team to open up the roof of the Kromas house during truck comany training. The guys are just two of the five members of their immediate family who are all fire fighters!

  • I'm impressed thats about a 12/12 pitch ,strong work. Now do it in the middle of the night with snow , ice and fire. Can you say park city ? Great job and keep training!!!

  • how about a ridge cut on a pitch like that??

  • haha i grew up with most of my immediate family being fire fighters..gone to school looking up to you guys now!! good job

  • true true. I built this replica of a 60 degree roof in my back yard and tried several different methods of opening it up. Axe is by far the hardest way (in my opinion)

  • anybody can vent with a chain saw practice with an axe. that takes skill and practice...

  • My brother and myself run all the time together, were a great team. we know what each others capable of doing and what our specialty's are so it works out amazing and its weird how we know what each other is going to do before it even happens. i guess that's what happens when you quiz each other on scenarios during free time lol

  • Remember 4X4 for residential. Good job by partner giving extra footage for firefighter cutting.

  • gota train like you fight though.

  • Not gonna vent anything with that...the house isn't on fire. Duh.

The point of the exercise was to get new guys experience working with a saw on a roof off of a ladder. It was a donated house with only so many square feet of roof available, so we intentionally kept the holes small to get more evolutions done. Thanks for watching.

  • Good job, boys...
