Wipeout 3 Special Edition, or Wip3out Special Edition as it was known, is truly the pinnacle of brilliance in the Wipeout series. I STILL play this and have most of the Gold medals. I must say, your version looks very crisp and smooth. What system is it on? Have you smoothed the graphics? It really looks nice.

Yes. Its the best game in the series really. Earlier and later versions do not compare.

Its playing on a standard grey PS1, but hooked up to my PC via a 3rd party SVHS cable which improves the image quality compared to the bundled component cable. I suppose playing it on a PS3 with upscaling will be even better though.

It has all the tracks from the regular edition of wipeout 3 + old tracks from the previous 2 games AND some beta tracks/race types. Havent tried the PS3 wipeout, but to me this is the ultimate wipeout game ;)

I agree with the above. Additionally, robot-voice was superb in 2097 - come to think of it, it was as if 2097 chimed an almost perfect balance in presentation, sound and gameplay. The sound-effects complimented the music, which complimented the visuals, which complimented the gameplay and vice-versa. What the game lacked was a Multi-player mode of course. Wipeout 2097 with multi-player would be a dream come true for me. Everything else was spot on.

they shouldn´t make more episodes of wipeout who are just based on grafik.

they should remake wip3out se and make some a fev more levels.

it took me 3 days to finish wipeout hd, and 3 month to finish wip3 out.

the game are getting shorter and shorter

The track and the music were so much better on XL (US)/ 2097 (PAL). Still loved the gritter vision of 3 as an alternative though..

@PaulMichaels78 I really enjoyed Wipeout XL and still play it to this day on my Ps3. Love the Soundtrack. Game was flawless. This level looks just like a track on xl. Isnt xl #3? Anyways, the guy playin this is almost as good as me. lol. Love the Ps controller format. Was using ALL my fingers. lmao.

Wip3out was, for me, a huge disappointment - technically superb, looked the absolute part. It handled smoothly and was magnificently presented. But lacked soul. The soundtrack was competent, but unexciting. The 2097 tracks in SE felt clinical, not exciting. 2097 had the right mix of difficulty - get it wrong, you want to play again. Get it right - you want to beat your time.

Nice video, not a downvote by any means - but give me GdE (or preferably Phenitia Park) on 2097 with Tin There any day.
