Let's get a few things corrected from previous comments: Massillon was actually the first pro team in the state of Ohio. The reason the HoF is in Canton is because the professional league met in Canton (pre-NFL) as their headquarters. Massillon has been WHS (Washington HS) for MANY years - I know since at least the 1940's but probably longer.

The Canton Bulldogs were actually the first Professional Football team. That's why the Hall of Fame is in Canton, Ohio. Oh, and the rivalry has been around for 117 years.

Massillon (Washington) is the only Massillon. The only reason it says Washington, is because when the new Massillon High School was built in 1991, it was dedicated to George Washington. Massillon Washington is MASSILLON. Perry, Jackson, and Tuslaw are not Massillon, they are townships of Massillon. LOL farmtown? You must be on drugs, oh wait, you're from Canton, you are on drugs.

for the record the massillon mckinley rivalry began in 1894...that would 115 years. the names of the schools were different in the beginning but it was the schools that became mckinley and washington...and go pups!
