I've ridden 3 different shapes from "doc' every board has been pretty kick ass, i have a 6'-8" hvp and took the center fin off and the board is so great without the center fin, and does 360's with ease, i even got compliments from Nathanial Curran, bottom line is doc is a world class shaper,
Just tried my new 5'6 toy in sloppy HB wind swell and had a blast! This is my first quad and first fat little shortboard. A huge contrast with my standard 5'10 thruster. Gets picked up by the swell and glides through the flats with ease. Highly recommended!!!
These boards are incredible! I've been surfing for 18 or 19 years and this by far the most fun board I've ever ridden, so fast and loose, but what makes them so great is they hold in a bottom turn like you wouldn't believe yet the tail is real wide. I've ridden it in well overhead waves without having to nurse the bottom turn, would love to try a longer doc quad in some bigger surf. Thanks Doc!
Just thought I'd post my experience with this board after riding it for two months.
The board is amazing in a number of ways. First, it catches waves with minimal effort, is very loose and very responsive, the bumps catch the water and you can rip through any chop with ease.
can someone tell me the width and thickness measures?? thx
