My screen is 20'' 1650x1050 this is maximum. ATI is cheaper than nvidia, and You are saying about GTS250 which is slower then hd4890.
On my pc colin runs on ultra details in 1650x1050 with 60-65 AVG FPS

I don't think that Colin McRae Dirt 2 uses more than 512MB RAM, I have a Sapphire Radeon 4870HD Vapor-X 1GB and I see no difference.

Yep 512 mb, I have no idea which card is better for quad core. There isnt a big difference I guess
