The Durham Electric Vehicle Association (DEVA) arranged arranged for members to ride an electric bus from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology in Oshawa to the electric vehicle facility in Uxbridge on September 3rd.

On this part of the ride the bus approaches an goes up the steepest part of Simcoe Street by the Purple Woods conservation area (the steep part is just after it passes under the railway trestle.) On the downhill side of this ridge the regenerative braking is used to recharge the batteries.

The bus was carrying about 20 passengers. The motor has a maximum output of about 75 kW.

You can hear Pierre Hinse, an electric vehicle program student who is also driving the bus giving additional statistics about the bus as we going up this hill and down the other side.
