Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City - Izzy's Story

Ronald McDonald House Charities provides a "home away from home" for families who must travel to Kansas City for their child's medical care...a place where families can maintain the comforting routines of day-to-day life during a stressful time.

Through our Ronald McDonald Houses and Family Room, our mission is to reduce the burden of childhood illness on children and their families.

We serve nearly 2,000 children and their families in our Houses each year. Our Family Room inside The Children's Mercy Hospital provides services to approximately 4,000 families, as well as, logs over 41,000 visits by those who need a place to relax, refresh, and regroup away from the hospital's intense environment.

God Bless You Izzy! :) You are a cute kid and you do not have to be afraid of anything. God is under control. He allows things to happen for a reason. You are a strong kid and I can relate with you on certain things and I know for a fact God does pretty great miracles. God Bless you.! :)

But God helped me pull through, So on December 16th 2010 I got the Brain Tumor removed, They tested it and it was diagnosed a typical. I was really freaked out because it can come back. But with the prayers and all the love, I am not too worried about it growing back. I get scans every year to see how im doing. I wanted to share with you. I can relate with Izzy pretty well. Even though I didnt go through as much as she did with this, I can relate with the pressure and sadness. all I can say is

Hey, I am a 15 year old girl, I was born with a physical disability, I have overcome 10 surgeries since I was a day old. When I was 14years old I was starting have headaches for three months, The second month I had headaches, My mom got me to the pediatrician and we got a CT scan, and they saw a bright spot, They said "It might be machine error, lets get a MRI" So we did a few weeks later and it turned out I had a Brain Tumor in between the left parietal lobe and the skull, Yes I was scared
