Rip-Off! They had to keep this computer $300 to have consumers look at it but they are in the field of not changing minds, but making money instead. If I had to have this machine I would prefer Ubuntu on it over ChromeOS. Regards of my intentions on any OS, I always find it impossible just to be on web browser. When you can get better specs on a Windows machine you have to go with the king instead of the underdog.

Perfect for my dad. Hes not a mdoer tech guy and all he wants to do when he uses my laptop is use the internet. Couldnt find a much perfect Browser in terms of ease of use and cleanness.

this is the future...cloud computing for most daily tasks...gaming and other intensive stuff will likely remain localised

I'm 100% against cloud-based computing! There is something to be said for owning one's content, and not leasing access to it via some huge telecom/Cable company. Don't allow corporate America to totally own you.

@computersforidiots It's not worth the money for people who need advanced features. Chromebooks are the computers we give our parents and grandparents who just need a basic web browser, and want it to just work after you set it up for them.
