I taught these guys how to play.
They would open for us and fawn all over us.
Then they get famous and I got stuck in some crazy prison hellhole fighting jigaboos and guzzling pruno. Prison is not good.
The booze stinks and the drugs are real expensive. But I knew a guard. I got all sorts of shit. Porn, valium, heroin, white lighting.
Prison hooch will get you horribly drunk.

I remember seeing the Del Fuegos a couple of times... I know the tape got worn out on a trip from Boston to FL with two of my buddies. Boston Mass is one of those few albums that I can listen to from start to finish... I may be mistaken, but I think there was a show at Great Woods with the Del Fuegos, the Georgia Satellites, and Tom Petty... Awesome...

Saw these guys in a bar in West Berlin, not far off the Kurfurstendam and the wall, in 1987.  They were AWESOME!

Dan Zanes (lead vocals) has a busy and successful career making "family music". His Dan Zanes & Friends CDs are fantastic: music that kids love and that parents can listen to without wanting to hurl. He puts on an amazing live show, too.
