I wanted to write a song and produce a short video on the great Harry Kalas that conveys the feeling of love that so many fans across not only the Delaware Valley, but the United States, have for him. We all feel like there is an empty void inside, that a part of our childhood has passed with him. He represents all that is good in this world, and at times like these, when you lose that, it's difficult to say goodbye and let go. We don't have to because he may be gone, but he'll never be outta here...To all the fans, I hope this video helps you to smile and cry as a nation and shed tears of love and appreciation for one of our national treasures. God Bless you Harry and your family, along with your extended family of fans, players, and co-workers. And don't think that Harry isn't watching from above. Yesterday, at 1:40pm, when the memorial service at Citizens Bank Park was underway, my little one, age 7, hit the first homerun of his career (grand slam as a matter of fact). As I listened to this song while watching the ball soar against the beautiful blue sky, it was as if it was in slow motion. With tears in my eyes I could hear Harry calling out "that ball is "outta here"! What makes this moment even more special to me was that the name of the field was MEMORIAL. You can't tell me miracles don't happen on a daily basis...you just have to be open for them to come into your heart and your life. It's a pleasure to share this true story with you. I am sure many others have their own. Don't keep them a secret...share them. It will make a difference in someone's life. Remember, one random act of kindness can change the world. That's how Harry lived his life, so it is a good lead to follow. God Bless you all.

  • I am so glad he finally has a statue erected in his honor. Can't wait to get to the park to see it. For a 17 year old "kid" you sound like a great young man. He's the right role model to follow; you have good taste. God Bless

  • If you go to the Harry Kalas Memorial Statue page, you will see the most beautiful picture of a little child hugging and kissing the statue of Harry. The expression they captured of Harry is perfect; so real. Makes me think of the line in the song "with every game you make, every child that you take..." Wow...

  • i was only 13 when HK died. and now 3 yrs later. im 16 and it hurts more than ever. i met him multiple times (a lot of my fmily works at citizens bank park) and he made an impact on me the very first time as well as every time after. As a young man, it sounds like Harry made an impression on you. It's a wonderful thing...I am so very glad the statue that was made possible by the fans is finally at CBP. I can't wait to visit the park and see it with my family. God Bless you and thanks for the nice posting.

  • what a wonderful tribute to a man whose death, nearly two full seasons ago now, still hurts like a beloved family member.

  • i went to the game on 4/18/09, and i saw the memorial where the schmidt statue is. i made a poster that said "That ball's outta here -RIP HK" and i left it at the memorial after the game. i had tickets to the next game on 4/19/09, and i wanted to see if it was still there. it was. but moved. it was at the center of the memorial. dead center. it almost kinda brought a tear to my eyes. it really saddened me. that guy was the soundrack to my summer every year. man i still miss him RIP HK
