what a wonderful tribute to a man whose death, nearly two full seasons ago now, still hurts like a beloved family member.

i went to the game on 4/18/09, and i saw the memorial where the schmidt statue is. i made a poster that said "That ball's outta here -RIP HK" and i left it at the memorial after the game. i had tickets to the next game on 4/19/09, and i wanted to see if it was still there. it was. but moved. it was at the center of the memorial. dead center. it almost kinda brought a tear to my eyes. it really saddened me. that guy was the soundrack to my summer every year. man i still miss him RIP HK

Beautiful tribute to a wonderful man. I cry every time I listen to it. Harry will always be the voice of the Phillies and of my childhood. I'm a phan living here in D.C., and I remember the day we lost him..I just sat at work and cried, knowing a piece of me and every other Phillies phan was gone forever. We love and miss you, Harry. Thank you for the memories. We were blessed to know you.

I am so glad he finally has a statue erected in his honor. Can't wait to get to the park to see it. For a 17 year old "kid" you sound like a great young man. He's the right role model to follow; you have good taste. God Bless

If you go to the Harry Kalas Memorial Statue page, you will see the most beautiful picture of a little child hugging and kissing the statue of Harry. The expression they captured of Harry is perfect; so real. Makes me think of the line in the song "with every game you make, every child that you take..." Wow...

As a young man, it sounds like Harry made an impression on you. It's a wonderful thing...I am so very glad the statue that was made possible by the fans is finally at CBP. I can't wait to visit the park and see it with my family. God Bless you and thanks for the nice posting.
