Drummer Todd Walker performing a "3/4 Samba" lesson. The "Samba" rhythm is traditionally felt/played in a "2" feel, but, you can try different time signatures as well, to create your own rhythmic ideas! The "Floor Tom" is acting as the traditional "Surdo Drum" in an authentic Brazilian Samba. For more info. visit http://www.toddwalkerdrumstudio.com Thanks for watching!

This is great! Check out Omar Hakim's version of a 3/4 Samba live. Look up "Cravo e Canela Milton Nascimento". Also check out Ed Uribe's book, "The Essence of Brazilian Percussion and Drum Set"

For me it is hard to play the bassdrum like that - but I love this kind of rhythm.
