Drummer Todd Walker performing a "3/4 Samba" lesson. The "Samba" rhythm is traditionally felt/played in a "2" feel, but, you can try different time signatures as well, to create your own rhythmic ideas! The "Floor Tom" is acting as the traditional "Surdo Drum" in an authentic Brazilian Samba. For more info. visit http://www.toddwalkerdrumstudio.com Thanks for watching!

  • @tylerbirchperc Thanks alot!!!!....aware of the Ed Uribe stuff thanks, also will check the Omar live too! .......GREAT, much appreciated!

  • This is great! Check out Omar Hakim's version of a 3/4 Samba live. Look up "Cravo e Canela Milton Nascimento". Also check out Ed Uribe's book, "The Essence of Brazilian Percussion and Drum Set"

  • @instrumentenfreak Take it slow.....start with some simple hand rhythms against the bass/hi-hat rhythm........you can get it!

  • For me it is hard to play the bassdrum like that - but I love this kind of rhythm.
