    There is no other way?

I thought God was supposed to be omnipotent. If there HAS to be a sacrifice made, so the sin of humanity is forgiven, God is not all poverfull, because he is bound by that rule. If he could forgive without that sacrifice, but he desides not to do that, than he is responsible for those rules and I still have to say those rules are unfair.

Especially, since the sin you are talking about has been comited by Adam and Eve. How is that my fault?

  • .....have a relationship with Him. A personal relationship with Jesus. God first demonstrated His love for us in that he gave His only begotton son to die for us on the cross. You were supposed to die instead he gave His life for you as a sacrifice. In God's eyes sin is sin, and can NOT go unpunished. But he has made a way out, if you will only turn from your wicked ways, and accept His son Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and His free gift of eternal life. There is no other way.

  • ....killing people left and right for their sins we would serve Him out of fear. But since he is a God of love he gives us a choice. He is no tyrannt, but a holy, just, merciful, and loving God who wants you to come to Him with your sins, lay down your burdens, and accept His gift. If you don't, then you can't come to Him because your sin seperates you. But if you accept the atonement that was made for you on the cross for your sins then you are washed whiter than snow and can....

  • @TheTruggsess Thin about this...God is Holy, and Just. If God is Holy he can NOT coincide with sin. Our sin is what seperates us from Him. We are bound by sin because we are from the seed of Adam and Eve. Now you might say, why does God allow sin? Because sin is a choice, and God in His wisdom gave us a free will to choose. Why did he do that? Because he wants us to serve Him out of free will. Love is also a choice. You have to choose to love someone. If he started......

  • The analogy with the loving father who pays the penalty for his son is perfect for the idea of Jesus dieing for our sin. It sais that you as a drunk driver don't have to take responsibility for your action as long as you suck up to the person that's abel to pay the penalty for you. But I'm still not sure how that's justis. How exactly is it just, when the person who comited the crime doesn't have to pay the penalty. And how is it just, that the penalty for every crime is exactly the same?

  • @bogusnachos well the historical life and resurrection is what fulfills the prophecies. not just what was merely 'said' in the new testament. there are more historical writings and enough eye witnesses of his life that there are more ACCURATELY translated documents about Jesus than Socrates and Plato combined.

  • @hoosierxc07 "solidifies the prophecies in the old testament" The new testament was written and translated by people knowledgeable of the old testament prophesies. It is very likely that they shaped the stories to fit. This isn't even good evidence yet alone "impossible not to believe"

  • @bogusnachos I would say to that to investigate the historical relevance of the life of Jesus and his resurrection. Because if Jesus is who he says he is and he truly resurrected, then that a)proves his divinity and b) solidifies the prophecies in the old testament. which in turn would make God described in the Bible impossible to not believe.

  • @hoosierxc07 Sounds like pascal's wager. I never saw any reason to believe there is a god anything like the god described in the bible. It seems much more likely to me that the biblical god was an invention of man like all of the other gods. I cannot will myself to believe something i don't believe. If that god exists, he is not going to be fooled by my hedging my bets and saying I believe.

  • @bogusnachos yes, i know you were answering my earlier question, what i intended to say was heres my 'next' question. sorry. do you believe in God? If so, there is great reason to believe there is life after a physical death. If you dont believe in God, why dont you?
