One of the most common questions I get asked is about our filter system, so in this weeks tips video I show you the filter system that I use and how it works.

For those of you familiar with our DVDs you will also know how regularly I seem to break my polarisers! So I have a new tip to prevent that from happening ;)

Enjoy,

Karl

  • I spy a digital back in the background. Tasty.

  • from where to you buy the square polarizing filters?

  • new subscriber, good info. something I may suggest is why not put the tape on the top of the filter, enough thickness so it doesn't go all the through but still be able to pull it up or down instead of the side. Just an idea :)

  • I love your tips. It's like watching Blue Peter

  • Karl, brilliant idea to use the INSULTING tape on the filters but have you considered using something like red or orange as they would be far easier to see in running streams, especially at about £80 a shot. Thanks for these brilliant entertaining vids.

  • @dlasusa Im also wondering how you rotate while stacking with a grad. Can they rotate independently? Thanks

  • nice i want filters like that. where can i purchase them? is there a certain brand you prefer?

  • Best brands are Lee or Hitech filters.

The downside is that they are very easy to scratch.

Way way way superior to the Cokin filters.

  • how can you rotate you polarized filter with that thing?

  • @DanKPhotography This is a Lee Filter Foundation Kit, I could not find this in the US except ebay.
