I have a lot of born-again friends in the RC church; people whose soteriology (doctrine of salvation) is far closer to Luther than that of the medieval Catholic church. So I am not knocking all Roman Catholics with this video. But you have to wonder what "tares" waft through the RC system -- whether doctrines or practices (the historic practice of trying to synchronize Christian faith with existing religious beliefs when evangelizing pagan nations comes immediately to mind) -- that can lead to such a tragic and ultimately demonic spectacle.

BTW - Friends in the Philippines have told me that the people who submit to "crucifixion-lite" there tend to be the biggest bozos in the town. (Note the wave from the lady as she is being un-nailed from her cross.)

Also BTW: the awesome song is "Northern Lights" by one of the greatest unsung artists of our time, William Lee Ellis. You can check him out and order music here: http://williamleeellis.com/

  • Just to play devil's advocate... The whole of protestant belief is based on the works of a man who never met Jesus in the flesh. When confronted about this fact he would claim that his alleged spritual interaction with Christ was superior to the real life, first hand experience of the apostles.

I'm starting to think as long as you've got Jesus, you're ok. Because all the churches are wrong, and everyone decides what they want to believe. Ih Jesus ever shows up, he'll straighten things out.

  • It has been said that people use Catholicism to mask their true pagan beliefs. Catholicism itself is paganism disguised as Christianity.

Jesus destroyed the spiritual authority of the Roman Emperors. They created this church to restore the spiritual power to their kingdom. They never really had any desire to practice the actual religion of the Jesus, and like the Egyptians, they reserved a secret level of belief only for ruling class.
