Coe's WR in 83 was run on wooden floor boards at Cosford. This was a state of the art modern track, which would have been faster, I agree, "destroys" is a word that is used far too frequently and inaccurately these days.

I expect a bigger margin than 6/100th's of a second when the word 'destroyed' is used.
