One of the earliest Crazy Eddie Commercials! WPIX late-night disc jockey Jerry "Dr. Jerry" Carroll started doing these hilarious ads in 1975. Crazy Eddie's prices are INSAAAAANE! Most people thought Carroll was Crazy Eddie, and when the company went bankrupt and was accused of fraud, Carroll's career probably took an unfortunate turn for the worse! Where is Dr. Jerry now?
**This commercial is from my 1977-83 Commercials Volume 1 collection**
@wilbar2922 The early ones I remember were the Doo Wop commercials, cashing in on what was then the '50s nostalgia craze thanks to "Happy Days" and "Laverne & Shirley," two classic sitcoms of the 1970's and early '80s.

This commercial was tame compared to many of the later ones that came along.

The number to call for Crazy Eddie to beat competitors prices was actually a pay phone on the Long Island Expressway.

Thanks for posting this! A couple years ago I was telling my son (Eddie) about the old Crazy Eddie commercials, and I couldn't find any online. INSANE!

the first Crazy Eddie ad I can remember didn't even have this guy. It was a girl talking about crazy eddie prices while getting into her tractor trailor truck. That's all I can remember about it.

This must've been later in 1978, because an ad that aired in July 1978 . . .

Eddie Antar was indeed a crazy opportunist who fled back to the Israel but extradited back to the US and found guilty in millions of dollars of fraudulent business dealings.
