The King shows us how to replace a broken or bent power antenna mast on the Mazda Miata. Replacement masts can be purchased on E-Bay.
1990-1997 mast item # 370330319122
1999-2005 mast Item # 390152434066

  • Thanks for all your help man!

  • I love the Internet! Thank you for posting such clear directions on replacing the antenna. I pulled mine out, and there was NO plastic lead attached. This video, and part two on removing the motor and fishing out the broken lead, let me do my own work with confidence. Now I can watch the mast go up and down, up and down...

  • Very good, except that I am stuck because I can't get the metal sleeve off of the bent mast. I cut the mast, but it's hard to get it off because the cut end is not round. The sleeve is fairly fragile so it's not possible to use force to get it over the rough cut. I'm a bit worried about how to finish the job.

  • Brilliant video, this video explains more than is contained in the fitting instructions, especially the metal sleeve which has to be cut off the old mast. Many thanks

  • The key part is the replacement sleeve (for the NA cars) and the rubber bushing. Since these parts can't be purchased they have to be cut off the old antenna. The video never show a close-up of the cut sleeve itself and what it looks like or how/where to place it on the mast... or the position of the rubber black/white bushing. Seems like a critical part of the process.....

  • Thanks worked like a charm. :-)

  • THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! Greetings from Germany! :)

  • Such a nice guy. Most garages will tell you jack shit !

So someone who shares his know-how & experience like Mike is an act of great kindness.

    Please make more videos Mike

  • Brilliant .. a real real help

  • Great video. Only thing I would suggest is use a tripod for the camera when you can and maybe some better lighting for the closeups. Very informative though. Thanks!!
