  • Is the left eye a half circle or did you mask it?

  • In this case it's a half circle but I masked it for the Duck in the other tutorials. Masking is more powerful.

  • hi, I can't get those handles to change the character's shape when trying to follow with this. how do you get to change the shape because I watched this a million times and get lost there. thanks!

  • The vector manipulation tools in Flash are identical to the tools you'll find in Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign. You need to select the path with the direct selection tool (the white arrow, not the black one) and chose the individual point you want to edit. The curve control handles will appear, whereupon you can still use the direct selection tool to adjust the handles. If you are still having trouble seek out specific pen tool tutorials online. Good luck!

  • Thank you so much!

  • you know... you can use shape hints if the shape tween doesn't work properly

  • I would really like to be able to do this kind of stuff.. Does anybody know how I can start doing animation?... Like how I can learn?

  • @Base14Productions so like for example if you wanted to make a character walk you do frame by frame in place then at the end you motion tween it to the postion he would go to

  • You can use shape tween almost always if you add a hint (ctrl+shift+h) you can find tutorials on that online :)

But keep in mind you should only do this on simple shapes or lines if your shape gets to complex just cut it into different pieces on different layers and try to keep it as simple as possible, and it does not work whit symbols!

  • This is awesome I'm going to subscribe right now can you help me out and just look at my animations and give me some hints if you could that would honestly be a great help

  • How do you delete the white background in flash?

  • Hmmm... This would have been good to see back in Winter 09. I could have made my senior project soooooooooooooo much easier on myself. Now I know for future reference. :)

  • Dunno if I'm being a complete idiot, but is each body you've assigned to each layer in the Frame-by-Frame a new symbol?

Do you have to have each keyframe's body position as a different symbol? Otherwise when you change the path it will change it for all the frames
