GREAT JOB LITTLE BROTHER YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED YOUR DREAMS, YOU BROUGHT HOME THE GOLD, I'M SO PROUD OF YOU. YOU RAN A AWESOME RACE, IT DON'T GET BETTER THAN WINNING THE GOLD. I REALLY LOVE THAT YOU GOT DOWN ON YOUR KNEES AND THANKED GOD FOR ALLOWING YOU THAT CHANCE TO BECOME A GOLD WINNING OLYMPIAN.YOUR YOUNGEST SISTER PEGGY
The question "are u glad u recruited him?" Carl would have been thinking to myself "hell no, the bastard beat me! If i didnt recruit him i probably would have won again!"
@Karmartia he ran a few times that were pretty special. he ran 10.03 100m that year, and 3 years earlier, at 17 years old, ran a 20.24 200m. not sure why he went missing after that..his junior times were brilliant.
Great race by DeLoach but curious how he never again even approached his times of '88. There never really was any indication previous to '88 that he would be the Olympic champion.
Joe DeLoach,a homeboy and great friend. Saw him last yr at his mother's homegoing: Mother DeLoach(a great lady)..R.I.P.

Injuries caused him to not make it back in 88. Proud I grew up in the same town and went to the same HS as Joe.
