@Mainerism Cool, I didn't know that. I just went to the optician for a check up a couple of days ago and she confirmed that photochromic lenses wouldn't work for driving. However looking in their brochure I see that they do "drivewear lenses" so she obviously isn't up on her own company's products. I'll have to go back and check them out. They sound good, a bit expensive but if they work they could be worth the money.

@CosmicCowhand New drivewear lenses work behind UV glass now.

Oh I see, I don't like that they don't change when you are driving. I just bought a pair of photochomatic type glasses and I don't really like them. I'll stick with more traditional types of lenses like polarized technology.

The downside of these lenses is that they have a short life expectancy, around 2 years, but you might get a bit more mileage out of them.
Also they might not darken enough if you are behind glass that has UV filters, such as a car windscreen.
Apart from that they are great and they adjust to the light level so you never have to take them off - they are also block all UV.

Wow can these been work in night time? Let's say at a indoor range? These are still UV rated right? Whats the benefits and negatives about having a photochromatic lens?
Yes they go to zero at night so you can use them in an indoor range. Bright outdoor light the y go dark. They work great. Negatives? The don't go dark enough inside of a car due to the uv coating on car glass. Not the best for driving in bright sunlight.
