This video features participants from the Kurdish American Youth Organization creating a mural on the children's story, "Kawa the Blacksmith" which is on display at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts as part of the Connecting Cultures: Children's Stories from Across the World exhibition on view through March 27, 2012.

Videos were created to document ten community organizations in Nashville that participated in this exhibition. These organizations sponsored workshops led by professional artists, in which participants created artworks based on stories that express the ideals of each culture while exploring common bonds between different people.

This exhibition represents the work and dedication of many people across the community who came together with the shared understanding that Nashville is diverse and changing, and, that by creating art for the community to see, people are able to begin understanding each other's values and finding the common ground that creates a vibrant community.
