FtM has NEVER been bigheaded. Cliff is one of the most modest, quiet, coolest mother fuckers on the planet. Darroh's not quite as quiet but there's nothing big headed about him. Hang out with them after a show before a show, go gamble with them, spend some actual time with the band before you think you know them, instead of spouting out bullshit on the internet.

Christ. You people have obviously never seen FtM live. They're freaking AMAZING live. Their energy is unparalleled and Darroh's vocals are just as solid. Aside from that he also extends the bridges on several songs giving you even more vocal euphoria. I've been going to their shows for three or four years and can say with complete certainty that he can slaughter the highs live. Does he do it *every* show? No. If you did six shows a week too you wouldn't want to either.

He hits the notes just fine. If he isn't ready to, then they just don't play the song. You try singing it Goliath, it's not easy at all.
-
I totally agree with you. It is unfortunate that he can't really do it live.
-
@TheGoliathsound Don't get me wrong, they are a good band, and their music is also as good. It is just disappointing to experience them live, nowadays, due to the vocals being mierda.
ePeace.

@blondeguy32 I get that...absolutely. But I disagree with your notion; what if the whole band "changed things up?" Would it be the same songs you hear on the record, which make you go out to the shows? I heard them at sxsw in 2004 from the backstage and they sounded fuckin PRIME. I do not think there are any excuses. I get it when he makes the notes lower and blah, blah. But, trying to hit that note and continuously cracking? Boo. Getting the crowd to sing the high part is a cheat code.

@TheGoliathsound The vocalist, darroh, does that on purpose if you can't tell. You called it not hitting the notes, but he changes things up. They're not like all the generic stuff you hear everywhere else.

The only thing that sucks about this band: The vocalist does not hit his notes......the music is spot on....but not the vocals....HUGE disappointment....good band though....i met them at sxsw fuckin years ago before they got signed to serb tankian's label.....they were pretty big-headed...I have watched interviews with them...they are knocked down a few pegs....which is good because their sound is kind of an acquired taste.....there really is not much to what they do.

T0OLISHHHHHHHHHHHHH SOUND!!!

wow :D
-
this is the epitome of well composed new era music. music= creativity. nothing else. and the album version was a severe disappointment
-
@Lunarmemory Only certain producers. I was really disappointed with the mixing on this album too
-
@Fibonacci09 "Professional" sound engineers are some of the worst things to happen to music.
-
@XxPunkerkittyXx Probably.
-
Really different from the definitive one (that is REALLY better), but not bad
-
how come i think the demo is better then the original?

TOSHIBA? I LOST A FRIEND ON THE BEACH

Awesome

It's traigc that this "demo" sounds much better than the album version. The album version really puts Darroh into the background. His voice isn't as powerful in the album version. Why did they not just put in this?
-
@Ceedge121 I remember thinking the same thing about versions of songs from their last album.

this sounds better than the album version
This is my favorite song i cant get enough of this song seriously i wake up and this is the first thing i listen to, i'm about to sleep and this is the last thing i listen to! I am in love with this song!!! best band ever!

If you guys are wondering why this sounds better than the album version, it's because the final mixing was horrendously compressed and made to sound "loud". Darroh wasn't told to tone it down. The act of compressing and increasing the volume gain on music makes it so that each instrument overpowers one-another--burying the sound and in this case suffocating Darroh's vocals. I might get flack for this, but I suggest googling "Loudness War", and observe what is being done to music these days.
