WHAT IS NIMA? Nima stands for, Nashville Independent Music Awards.

PURPOSE of NIMA: NIMA was developed in the summer of 2004 by a group of Nashville music and media professionals. Its primary purpose is to recognize independent Nashville musicians along with supporting and nurturing the musical community.

NIMA Association: The NIMA Association is a select group of Nashville entertainment business professionals. Each member of the association will get one vote per category.


MIXTAPES: There will only be 1 Mixtape category. The mixtape award will be people's choice awards that will be voted on by the STREETS. People can vote for the people's choice awards in the comment section of our MySpace page, or send a e-mail.


Our award show is for Nashville artist only, so the odds are in everybody's favor to win. The NIMA's are not a popularity contest like other award shows. These awards can't be bought by our sponsors like other award shows. Our awards will be given based on how good your music is, and how much talent & hustle you have.
