Learn the card game called 7-up

Deal six cards each then flip the stack for trump.

Pawn accepts trump or begs for new suit. The dealer may deny the beg and keep the trump but pawn receives point.

If beg is accepted, deal three cards each and flip for trump.

Discard down to six cards each. Pawn begins play with any card.

Must follow suit or play trump. If can't follow suit or trump may play any card. High card takes trick but trump beats all. winsoverall

High trump dealt scores point
Low trump dealt scores point
Winner of the Jack of trump scores point
Winner of hand scores point

Points:

1 - beg denied
1 - dealt high trump
1 - dealt low trump
1 - win Jack trump
1 - win hand total

The winner is the first to seven points thus 7-up.

The Jack of trump must be won but the dealer scores point when the Jack of trump is flipped and the suit taken.

The high and low points of trump are dealt not won.

When counting hand total -
A-4
K-3
Q-2
J-1
10-10.
The player with highest total gets one point.

** Beg means deal three more cards and flip a new trump suit. Dealer must decide to allow beg or deny and keep trump. Pawn can beg as many times as cards in deck.

Notes -

We play a very similar game called "Catch 5", the goal is to get to 25 points. High trump is worth a point, low trump is worth a point, Jack of trump is worth 1 point, "Game" or "Points" as you call it is worth 1 point, and the 5 of trump is worth 5 points. One of my favorite games ever.
