  • Yes this is nice. You dont that kind of straight-up identity on TV anymore. Its all pretentious twattery.

  • The BBC2 Stripy logo was designed by Oliver Elmes of the BBC Computer woorkshop. It was done by a Digitalized Computer Animation. This one lasted from mid-1979 to March 30, 1986. This was the first digitalized identification of the BBC.

  • This anticipated the future.

  • Such a shame that no one knows the exact date when this was first introduced.

  • @exploder76 You Mean It's The First Computer generated ident ever!

  • I used to love this ident and jingle. Reminded me of Saturday aternoons when there was only sport on the other 2 channels and BBC2 would come on and have some Black and White film on, or Playaway... BBC2 was very much more reserved, back then. But, it kind of gave a sense of warmth and security. Or, maybe it's just me getting a bit nostalgic! If you were able to play BBC2 as it is today, back in 1979, you'd not recognise it. Progress, eh?

  • superb jingle and ident

  • two 2's still if you look close...

  • weird fanfare its something interesting but something really strange

  • I was expecting Torchwood..
