In this video I'm going into James 2:1-4 and 1 Corinthians 9:19-23. I thought they were interesting. The fact that they are almost contradicting each other with one saying you shouldn't treat people differently and the other one saying you should treat them differently. Obviously they are slightly different as the first one is talking about judgemental differences and the second is talking about appealing to people.
James 2:1-4
"1 My brothers, as believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, don't show favoritism. 2 Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in shabby clothes also comes in. 3 If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, "Here's a good seat for you," but say to the poor man, "You stand there" or "Sit on the floor by my feet," 4 have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?"
1 Corinthians 9:19-23
"19 Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. 20 To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. 21 To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God's law but am under Christ's law), so as to win those not having the law. 22 To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. 23 I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings."
I hope you enjoy =)
2 Corinthians 5:16 - We regard no man after the flesh. Meaning, we do not judge a man by his condition or his behavior, but by his confession. We fix our eyes upon Christ, (TRUTH and LOVE) not the flesh, for every man is a sinner and a liar and there is none who do right. Jesus sacrifice blots out sin from God's sight. God is not judging our flesh but we stand judged by our confession for, or against His sacrifice given. Note John 3:18 -1 John 5:6 (look who the Spirit is) and 1 Corinthians 12:3.
