Video of hit NATO chopper tugged by Giant Russian helicopter

A Russian crew has successfully returned a NATO chopper to its airbase in Kandahar after the craft came under attack. The Dutch helicopter was damaged by gunfire in Southern Afghanistan. After being shot at, the Cougar helicopter made an emergency landing at an American military camp. It took the Russian Mi-26 half an hour to bring the 10-ton Cougar back. The Russian helicopter has been on similar rescue missions before, moving three of the U.S.'s largest Chinook helicopters - including one this October. The helicopter has been serving NATO troops in Afghanistan for more than three years. The Mi-26 is the biggest and most powerful helicopter ever to go into serial production.

@controlusplease1 Yugoslavia (Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina) was never part of the Warsaw pact nor NATO, but it belonged to and was the founder of the Non-Aligned Movement! or countries that did not chose either to NATO nor the Warsaw alliance, so was not until the breakup of Yugoslavia when some former members join NATO!

@controlusplease1 Bosnia and Macedonia were never warsaw pact members as they were in Yugoslavia which was outside the influence of USSR eventhough Yugoslavia was a socialist/communist country.

@pwnstoohard yeah, thats why i said former USSR states, the countries themselves may not have existed, but they were still part of USSR, no matter how you put it.

It just goes to show how unpopular Russia/Soviets were & still continue to be in these countries, or else they would have joined CIS after the Soviet breakup.

Also, many of these states existed in the 1700s and 1800s before they unwillingly got swallowed up by Empires, & have just now finally gained independence again.
