  • @sybrfreq I agree, well said. I also hate the whole hype about Google. So far only Google Earth has been something I really enjoyed and it has become real buggy. Also, it wasn't even theirs to begin with (I saw SGI technically do what Google Earth for several decades; on top, Google seems to licensed from Earth Technologies).

Enough about Google, before they notice my evil dissent and banish me from their glorious web-sites (and lord, what don't they own already). :-D

  • if you look at google's corporate philosophy... you know, wear t-shirts and flip flops to work, feet on the desk, etc etc, you see where their lack of quality comes from. the problem is that the users aren't their customers. the advertisers are. So long as the site works well enough to load up the ads, google don't care.

  • @eMGeeGFX I hooked the camera up to my PC's 1394 connection and uploaded the videos directly with windows movie maker. google manages to balls up everything, did you know that for some reason they decided to connect my youtube account with my sister's gmail account? my youtube account used to be connected to my own email account that I used to register until a few weeks ago. she doesn't use youtube and I don't use gmail. I have no idea how this happened.

  • Nice video and great narration!

Those HDD trays look very much like the ones in the Indigo², except for the interface which connects with the backplane (which looks like the one used on an DEC AlphaServer I have). By the way, the DIN-connector for the keyboard and mouse, is that a bit like Sun's Type 5[C] interface?
