Just a rant about strings and other stupid shit. Try to count how many times I say SHIT and FUCK in the video. Make a game out of it. But also, do yourself a favor, listen and learn. Don't try to argue....because you'll simply be wrong.

@StratCountry Hi my friend. These are about the slickest strings out there already. I've never though about it, but I am thinking about it right now, I know how the Polywebs are constructed and honestly, I would say that dipping each of your left hand fingertips in Vaseline, then play the guitar and let it do what it naturally does. Spread it out so thin and it should do wonders for what you are wanting from it. It will not break down the properties in the Polyweb coating either. Cheers.

Hi Scott, just a quick question. Is there a way to make the Polywebs a bit slipperier without harming them. I really like the feel & performance of these new strings.

@TheMAJofficial Yes, they can start the "fraying" process quite easily. The tune o matic is just such a HORRIBLE bridge for so many reasons. If you ever use a Bigsby trem with a tune o matic, forget it. You may as well be playing your stings with a butter knife. That combination will shred any Elixir string in seconds.

2nd part of my comment, I was cut-off: playing on/off for a year, that I may have missed a few important things.
Would it be alright to use some kind of powder, at least on the backside of the guitar neck? I own a satin finished 2009 Strat.
Thanks for steering me in the right direction Scott, on the Polywebs while in the early stage of learning the guitar. Should be the most important step. "using Polyweb strings".

@StratCountry I really prefer no finish at all on the back of my necks. You don't have anything to slow you down that way. So, if you're playing on an axe that you plan on KEEPING, the best thing to do is to simply sand off the finish from the back of the neck

@groovydjs Appreciate it Scott. I never would have guessed that one, a person who has been in the music industry like you, would know these tricks of the trade.
I better keep the finish on, hopefully over time, it will wear down to slicker a feel.

@StratCountry My pleasure. It will take a couple of decades unless you are playing 6 nights a week and 6 sets a night. That stuff is on there good. What you might do is just grab a Mexican neck off of Ebay for a hundred bucks, sand the hell out of it and if and when it's time to sell the Strat...the original neck will be in PERFECT condition when you bolt it back on there.

I appreciate your quick response Scott, you are right about the Polywebs being the slickest strings out there, I noticed the difference right away. For some reason, when I get the slightest amount of moisture on my fingers & thumb, they really grab a-hold of the maple fret board & the backside of the neck, even lightly holding the neck. I'm finding it difficult playing some of Brent Mason's "old school" double-stop slides. I imagine being a green horn on electric guitar,.....

@StratCountry That's when the neck starts to feel good to, when that finish on the front of the maple fingerboard finally comes off. A few folks have gotten it right and have made the guitars with no finish anywhere on the neck or the fretboard. Not too many are bright enough to know to do it that way sadly enough.
