  • @johnnylifeson shut up apple fanboy! hey wait.... :P

  • @WizPcKid Not really. Linux is very reliable for streaming even to PS3. I wouldn't need to run an antivirus on it or anything, because windows viruses wont affect linux. It's perfect for what it does.

Running Linux on that old ass computer I mentioned before runs as far as running windows on something newer. If I had something newer, i wouldn't be using it as a server....lol. It would become another work station or something like that.

  • @joemann797 fair enough, but wouldnt you want something like windows, even though you need a fairly powerful enough computer, windows would make a much more reliable server for your ps3 streaming

  • @WizPcKid and thank you for mentioning that too, yes, linux can run on old hardware, because it runs fast where windows cannot.

I had an old 2 GHz celeron PC with only 700 MB of ram, and if it wasn't for linux, this thing would be in landfills making more trash on this planet.

Because of linux, I was able to turn it into a decent server to stream music over the network to my PS3 and xbox 360. I could even run a webserver off of it.

  • @WizPcKid Shut up. I run two computers that are VERY capable of running windows 7, but I choose to run linux because it's fast, efficient, and i dont need to run an antivirus like on Windows.

Linux is for power users that like to modify, weak, and screw around with their system, though some distros such as ubuntu as easy enough to install that anyone can use them.

Windows is for those that dont know any better, and just have it because it came with the machine...lmfao.

  • @johnnylifeson linux is opensource, its for cheap idiot who dont have a good enough computer to run windows

  • Microsoft Sux !!!!!!!!! Linux Rules !!!!!!!!!!

  • why do I get the feeling, he had no idea of what he was even talking about? lol

  • does bill gates even play?

    if he is...

bet his spending his money on supergamingcomputers! lol!
