  • i have code 28 (Transmission range pressure Switch) on a 1994 Chevy c 1500 4l60e with a 4.3 would the pressure manifold be my problem part

  • @ducksunlimited12345 No, a trans range switch DTC (code) pertains to an electrical problem only. To diagnose don't even start the engine. Just KEY ON ENGINE OFF and probe at the range switch. This is normally found at the tranny attached to the shifter lever. Looks like a plastic box with the shifter shaft through it. When you execute each shift, the shaft moves and so does the range switch.

  • @ADPTraining CONTINUED:

Check for power and ground. All the RS does is complete a circuit, like any switch. Check for continuity with RS connector disconnected and using an inexpensive multimeter ($9.00). A multimeter is your best tool. Good luck.
