Gong li is the most gifted of all Asian actresses and one of the greatest in all the world. She has created some of the most magnificent and unforgetable characters in world cinema. And yes! she's absolutely, stunningly beautiful also.

France has her Catherine Deneuve. Italy has Sophia Loren. China has Gong Li. These women share a commonality. They all have the gift to captivate, whether on screen or off--making them contemporary legends of film lore.

My first film of her in a film called Ju Dou - and that was it. I caught Li Gong fever. - I even married a Japanese girl and am still married to her today. in 2004, I was assistant manager at a hotel in Santa Monica.
Gong Li walked in to pay for a friend's room.
I nearly broke into tears when I saw her. She paid - and I confessed. I couldn't help it. She was nice, even though I'm sure I was just another creepy American that was a major fanboy. But i got a picture of us together. Smiles.

Thanks. Gong Li is my favorite actors of all time. What comes out of her is stunning. She's also one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen. Her talent as an actor is just off the scale. She's absolutely priceless.
