I see, but isn't he a choker if all his teams also choke?
I think Jerry is a great coach and maybe he's not even a choker, as known his coachingstyle and the way his teams play very different from the normalcoaching and playingstyle. That may be the reason, that the way of coaching takes his team far but it doesn't work to the end? I don't know mate, I just find it very weird that he never won a thing during his 20 years as coach and with all these great teams.
The Braves are baseball. And, Bobby had some awesome teams, won 14 straight Division Titles, but only 1 World Series Title. His teams choked often, too.
But I know that Utah have had 2 of the best players of all-time at once for like 16 years and still wasn't able to win anything. A coach that can't win with two of the best of all-time is a choker, with out no doubt:)
Wow, in many ways, Jerry Sloan=Bobby Cox, the legendary manager of the Atlanta Braves. Like Sloan, Bobby Cox is a Hall of Famer(or will be), and he has sooooo many wins and won 14 straight NL East Titles. Yes, unlike Sloan, Bobby has a title, but he only has one. The Braves, like the Jazz, are famous for choking, and think about how much talent they have had.
True, but don't forget all the other opportunities they've had. In 94 Hakeem killed Utah Jazz in the conference finals and he was Houston's only all-star while Utah had 3 all-star caliberplayers in Stock, Mailman and Horny. If I remember it right it was a 4-1win series.
And in 95 they had a 60+ win season while Houston was 6th seeded but Utah lost again in the first round, in the final game of that series Utah led with like 5 or 7 with 2-3 minutes left. Sloan is good but still a choker:)
Yes, you have a point. But, in 1997 and 1998, when they had John Stockton and Karl Malone and lost to the Chicago Bulls in the Championship, they played great, and, if not for some unbelievable games by Michael Jordan, hands-down the greatest player ever, they almost definitely would have won a title. Yes, they have choked, but, either way, getting 900 wins is one awesome accomplishment.
