My planted 60gallon tank on 12/16/06. The vals that I have have grown about 2 feet high. They just wrap themselves all over the surface since my tank isnt high enough for them. It's pretty cool, yet, they dont allow much light to hit the floor. I'm looking for some glosso to create the carpet effect on the bottom in the future. The only fish i have inside are some endler's livebearers, guppies, a corydoras and a plecostemus. Enjoy!

  • Hey Drux, should I layer anything on top of the KL substrate? Or is there a recommended top layer substrate? Thanks

  • @HermannTheGreat The whole substrate is KL only. This one has 1 layer if that's what you're asking.

  • do i need to buy an specific bulb when i put plants in my tank? cuz i had some b4 and they died after a month

  • yea, walmart sells cheap compact fluorescents. you need the DAYLIGHT one, which is 6500k light temperature.

  • what type of plants are those???? where can i get some like that????

  • jungle vals from petsmart. I bought one set to test my kitty liter substrate and it works very well for this plant. I do believe though, that if i want more plants or harder plants, that i would need appropriate substrate.
