If this song doesn't relay exactly what life is all about, then I really don't know life at all! It's all life's illusion that I recall.

Though life may be different for all of us, somehow we have these relatively common way of living it. We all love and get hurt and still love again.

Beautifu song. The blaming part, I love it! "and they rain and they snow on everyone, so many things I would have done but clouds got in my way"

When can we make meaningful songs like this again?

this is the version that i know and love. the slow version. i don't even like the old version, having heard this first. this is breathtaking. the lyrics always belonged to an old soul; perhaps that's why this version is so powerful...

Absolutely beautiful, both Joni, her voice, and this song. Clouds pass, the sun will shine, it takes time and the strength to weather the weather, whether or not it gets easier, until the sun finally comes and it will,.... never stop, never give up, always believe and it will happen.

This song really does take on a whole new meaning and significance from this perspective. It's almost as if she couldn't really have written this song when she did. How could she? She hadn't really lived long enough yet, and yet I suppose she had from her perspective back then. The way she used to sing it was from a much younger point of view, but still she had had enough experience in life at that time to draw on to write this beautiful, but profoundly sad song.

Though I'm not crazy about this version of the song, I like her older, deeper voice. I always found her voice a little shrill when she was young.
