Looking at this carefully, looks like they are playing to a backing tape! Maybe this is a German version of TOTP. Maybe that explains the Ovation guitar..it .must of belonged to the producers!

This piece is relatively easy to play badly but exceptionally difficult to play properly. JW is a master no doubt about it.
Notice though, the staggering difference in difficulty between playing the full score solo and the limited guitar part he plays here. He looks like he could play this with his eyes closed but the full solo version requires even JWs complete concentration.
