  • Bio Film..

  • @msmonabell Thanks so much for this info. Need to follow-up on this polyproplene (PP) ...

  • They spray a coating over the lettuce, and yes a spray can get in between leaves: "... [M]odified atmosphere packaging (MAP) ... involves either actively or passively controlling or modifying the atmosphere surrounding the product within a package made of various types and/or combinations of films ... Edible films may consist of four basic materials: lipids, resins, polysaccharides and proteins ...

  • @FireDragonTanya Lyn Werbach is CFO of Saatchi & Saatchi S, a firm which provides sustainability consulting to large corporations. As such, it is puzzling how she is in blissful ignorance of plastics. Yet she has asked me to, 'take my video down.'

    Perhaps she should visit the Berry Plastics website. They offer MAP and she could learn more there.

  • This is not a plastic coating. I buy organic from a small and local organic farmer, and this happens when it gets cold in the winter months.

  • @SloppyBinds No way. This does not happen with all lettuce - even with the cold. Don't know if it is GMO related or simply something in a 'MAP" coating sprayed on. There are some advertising types and their assorted trolls commenting and issuing their own videos to throw smoke over this important issue. Don't be fooled. Google Berry Plastics. Go to FDA site.

  • Sure looks to me like the natural cellulose layer you can peel off lots and lots of kinds of plants if you're careful enough. A quick check under a microscope would clarify it one way or another.

  • Monsanto = Death

    FDA = Death

  • Was that organic?

  • Thank you very much for not only the upload, but the link as well. It has proved invaluable to me already. Stay safe, and be happy. :)

  • Albertson's manager left a little present on your lettuce.

  • WTF can I eat anything anymore????

  • Traditionally used packaging films like LDPE (low density polyethylene), PVC (polyvinyl chloride), EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) and OPP (oriented polypropylene) are not permeable enough for highly respiring products like fresh-cut produces,

  • @1madaboutguitar is not fake, I tested my organic lettuce and they were pilling off just like this video but maybe is normal (natural fiber layers of lettuce)?

  • did anyone check this under the microscope? I don't have one.

  • better watch what we put in our mouth.

  • FAKE
