Double Horse 9051RC Helicopter first flight FPV with a mini cam.
Pro: Whole setup (heli/cam) under 50 bucks US. Flights to about 75 feet with 19g camera (a tootsie roll is about 17g for comparison) Easy to fly and very stable- good for a beginner. (note: I am holding the camera in one hand and flying with the other.) Good looking and nice lighting effects. The camera is awesome. Easy to use and this video was shot in low light levels with no problems
Con: underpowered, short flight time, 2min great flying + another 3-5 min of bouncing of the ground. Terrible English translation on box and instructions but worth the read albeit not necessary to use the heli.
Overall: Great for the price for getting started. You would not be wasting your money if you want to make sure that you want to get into this hobby. Some searching might show better brands for better flying. Get the camera if not the helicopter.

  • See how long your battery lasts indoors at room temp (bind the struts to something heavy so it won't fly and rev up the motor a little over half way). If it last long inside but still dies right away outside in the cold then i wouldn't fly until it gets warmer out. If it does not last long inside then the battery is getting old. Try not to discharge the battery to much because that will shorten their life span considerably.

  • It says not to fly below 50 degrees F. Do i need to wait until spring or can i try to fly now?

  • @Predator000099 We fly RC airplanes all year round. The batteries don't like to be used in the cold and the plastic on the heli can become brittle but if you are going outside for a few minutes to fly and then bringing it back in I think you can fly even when it is cold out. Just keep it low and don't try to fly until the batteries die and bring it in right away for a charging.

  • @Brettkjell Well its 40 degrees out and it only lasts for about a minute and it wont gain any altitude. Going to try to use my professional charger to see whats going on with the battery.

  • anyone know how to replace the lower blade grip set on the 9051?

  • er, "below" was mine.

  • oops. that was my kids name. above was mine.

  • Nice work. I was shocked to hear the flight time was so short. I suppose on these babies it's - the more money, the more duration. Also, try to find a wy to reduce the camera vibration. I want to see clear images when you fly that thing over the sunbathers this summer!
