June 27th, 2010 at 5pm, on Queen St.
Video shot by Mamun Sahak

.The clip shows a large group of peaceful protesters moving west on Queen St. towards Spadina. Before reaching University Ave. the crowd is barricaded by police officers on bikes and are denied access past York St without any explanation. The group is forced to temporarily halt in front of the Sheraton Centre at Queen and York St.
Meanwhile on the other side of the barricade police officers begin pushing a small number of pedestrians, who are not part of the protest, further back. The group asks for an explanation and the officers attack without warning.
Watch as one of the officers brutally chokes an innocent, unarmed pedestrian.
When the crowd asks the officer for his badge number another officer volunteers a fabricated number (6789). In reality its Officer 244 from the York Regional Police.
A few seconds after the savage attack the crowd behind the barricade makes it through, unfortunately its this same group that was rounded up and arrested once they reached Spadina.

To the officer from York Regional Police, badge number 244.

  • @jdodd82 who were not part of the original protest but just joined in. I am against those people...but to label all protesters "unemployed, drug abusing leeches" is wrong and very offensive. You say "Fuck protesters"...a little reminder that it's thanks to protesters of the past, that you today even have ANY freedoms and civil rights and do not live in a totalitarian regime that exist in a lot of other countries.

  • @jdodd82 Actually ... NO I am not unemployed. I work as an engineer and make more than the Canadian median household income. I have never smoked or done drugs in my life. I was there and I know some of the people who were protesting are doctors, small business owners, teachers so don't make the assumption that "all" protesters are "unemployed" and are stupid druggies. They were protesting against corporate greed that has turned this country into a police state.

  • All unemployed, drug abusing leeches. Fuck protesters.

  • Can someone even tell me wtf was the point of blocking the protestors??

  • @CrzymanX Because people think there's only one way to get to the other side.

  • regardless of race or religion or gender.

doesnt matter where you live the police are supposed to be protecting us not harming us.

im proud to be canadian but im ashamed of this

  • it just proves that the Toronto police work for the usa

  • i like how in this country nobody respects the police and what they do for the country, the fight crime and put their lives at risk, these fucking anarchists think that theres always gotta b something wrong with the system, that some1 is always tryning to fuck them over, theyr only fucking over themselves. try living in a country where ppl dont have these rights, and the police have the power, try seeing life in Egypt or Syria, there ppl r afraid of them, our cops r understanding in comparison

  • why r ppl tryning to pick a fight with the police anyway, just leave them alone, its only for one fucking stupid da

  • @The12GAme I thought this was earth, not hell?
