Kerry Ellis should never be compared to Susan Boyle, she's in a completely different league. I have nothing against Susan Boyle but I think if you heard them both live you would change your mind pretty quickly.

@joshgardell Kerry's a legitimate artist, whereas Susan Boyle's a contestant. She's decent, but untrained, and it shows.

@rjeffrey27 Honestly, I've never seen the obsession with Susan Boyle. Sure, she's good for a person with no training, but, completely objectively, she doesn't even hold a candle to the most unseasoned actress on Broadway.

Fantine IS innocent ... and tragic. This is beautifully sung.

The problem is that Kerry's voice is too earnest and innocent. Fantine is a tragic character, so her voice and the role don't match.
