While tilling the potato patch today I had an idea on how to build a tool to hill potatoes. It easy to build and works well. Much faster then hilling with a hoe.

  • very cool.

  • @Tabooga65 thanks it was a great time saver

  • Excellent job, but I feel that a longer beem might only increase the resistance, you'd have a narrower beem but more in contact with the earth.

  • @dobe762 It might I might build one and see

  • Great idea!

  • @LittleSonOfa Thanks it was a big help

  • If you could attach a wheel on the front of that plow, so you could set your depth.. or hold the depth, that mike make it easier to pull as well. But then again, maybe it wouldn't because that angle of pull kind of sets the depth for you...

  • You might add a caster wheel to it to make it easier to move to less stong persons.

  • @enoughraptor6 Potato's need loose soil to grow in. And when it's time to pick them, it is much easier to just break the rows down by hand and just gather them.

  • I could see a rototiller having a problem pulling that if its a smaller tiller especially. With that it would be pointless even trying to pull it with a tiller anyhow it wouldn't take that long to do it by hand anyways. Great idea.

  • @enoughraptor6

as they grow, you cover up the stalks, about 4-6 inches left exposed(depending) on the stalk, SO it causes the plant to grow more potatoes.

  • Nice

  • good job

  • thanks for the video. wish you would have taken the block off so we could see the v tho

  • Very nice for rows! Good job!

  • I know this is a stupid question but why hill the potatoes. Thanks
