-
@Honda599Girl I'm impressed. You've got a great feel for the videos I've seen so far. Keep jammin'!
-
I love it!

Wilton Felder played bass on this tune, but I wish you had instead!
-

Hey girl...Awesome job. Love James Jamerson and you nailed it.

Great playing! My son has that same bass and it's a great instrument for the money... You get a wonderful sound out of it.
-
have a go at do i do by stevie?
-
@Honda599Girl I see. I agree, that's a powerful, low-mid attack from that Sterling!
But I thought the Sterling sounded a bit more brighter than the Stingray... maybe it's time to change the strings again, no?
Myself I can't decide about buying a Stingray, heavy on the low freq's, or a Fender American Deluxe Jazz Bass, wich has a more of a "wet" sound, wich I also like!
By the way I laughed a lot with your motorcycle helmet video! Very enthusiastic! : )
Are you in a band?
Keep groovin'!
Cheers!

OMG you're sooo bad! :) i love it,
-
@megavega4 Yeah, perhaps - it's unknown for certain, but he certainly didn't write it! (Jermain - the line)...
-
Very good Job! You look great while playing! Keep up the good work!
-
this really good... how did you learn
-
@stardreamgirl Wilton Felder played bass on this song and James Jamerson played on most of J5 songs
-
People.. sorry to burst your collective bubble.. but Jermaine is NOT playing bass on this.. or any other J-5 studio recording. Motown used session players on everything.. If you want to hear Jermaine playing this line, you have to pick up the new CD of their 2 concerts at the L.A. Forum.. from 1970 and 1972. No doubt though.. that Jermaine is an underrated player.. which these CD's will show.

Finally, someone who uploads a play along that you can actually hear over the music!! Very talented bassist. I don't supose you know "It's the Falling In Love" - MJ

absolute INCREDIBLE! very very nice! the perfect woman, playing bass!
Is that a Music Man Stingray?
tiguilherman 1 year ago
@tiguilherman It's a 1999 Music Man Sterling, and I think I've only changed the strings twice since I've had it.
It's my totally reliable, rock solid, always sounds just right bass.
We have a wonderful relationship.

On the part where mike says "but chasing boys was just a fad.. in the beginning....what is the fret work on that? i would try to decipher it myself...but it's pretty quick and i'm just learning bass..

I think the whole phrase at that point is B D Low open E F# G A B
C B A G
Hope that helps.
I probably haven't played this song once since making the video. When I teach myself songs, it's like cramming for a test. I learn them, play them and then forget them : (
