  • Weird? You've been watching too much connect-the-dots TV and movies. And Mecouri's voice was part of her great appeal.

  • Melina's voice is very odd.

    I don't ever remember seeing this peculiar intro to the film - it does make sense if you've already seen the entire movie, but it's still weird.

  • @beepandbop --- Mercouri always seemed to have that deep, smoky voice (she released several albums and appeared in several musicals). It's just that, in this particular film, her role required her to assume more predatory mannerisms. I once read a critic who opined that the width of Mercouri's mouth is what kept her from being recognized as a world-class beauty.
