Sir,the recommendation to watch the video was just b/c there are less expensive ways to get fresh chlorine tabs. I save water in used 2 liter bottles I stock them up date the bottle with a tbsp of bleach.I don't need a filter the water is clean city water the bleach is to insure the water remains bacteria free. The video gives advice on how not to get lost. My survival is a shelter in place, yours is an entirely different situation you need a filter. Please do a video on your chickens cost etc.

First these are not chlorine tabs--they are chlorine dioxide. Chlorine tabs will not kill crypto--chlorine Dioxide will--Second this video is a talk about building a VERY SMALL survival pack so a water filter would be to big and heavy for this application

Wilderness Survival: Building and using(In my favorites I placed it on top)good lecture.I'm with you I don't think a condom would make a great water carrier so I would not recommend carrying one for that reason.This video shows proper signaling. Chlorine tabs are the same you use in the pool these are safe to use to purify water you can buy them at walmart. Let the water sit afterward the chlorine will dissapate.Recommended to try skills b/f u need them practivce@home safer that way.

I store water and replace it every six months. I figure the chlorine is going to start going bad after that.

Currently I am good to make it to therapy 3 times a week a walk in the woods is a walk on the moon. I just want to get healthy enough to return to work knee surgery. That is why my survival is different I save my water now treat it with bleach should I ever find myself treating water lesser than the city water we get I will know about the special little pill. You don't get rude with tinny he is known for regulating when challenged and I rather not tick him off. He is a righteous dude.

Perhaps I misunderstood you. I felt B/C was bullcrap directed to Tinny & that he needed a filter. Yes Tinny is expressing. No one should base their survival on internet pretexts, it is a forum. Again I felt the comment seemed rude. We have all been critisised for having interest in preparedness & such & I thought you to be just another, with that filter bit. My survival is different than yours or Tinny having lived my life in North British Columbia bush. I already passed the course sorry.

Tossdart where are you coming from with that line what does this add to the bank of knowledge? I am here to learn and I did learn a lot b/c he told me the difference between the two. What if there were others that didn't realize the difference and decided to use a lesser chemical they would get sick and wonder why; worse they could expire. I don't think your comment to be rude it is rude and presumptuous. Try spell check before you correct others,copy and paste.

Tinny, I'm not running the tiller & I now need hearing exam after it blaired through my speakers! Don't worry about the fixed house guy he just likes crowing. Good tips all. I hope you read my comments. You give good advise for light packers. My ideas of woods are based on living in bush & I live by them even now when I rarely need skills I keep the old ways. While I make bows & arrows of quality & spin my strings. My dad used a Winchester way back they were good then & are good now.

Never heard of Chorine dioxide until this. Never did I recommend the use of a filter don't own one. Your objective was understood small kit About a dollar a tab you have to admit that is up there and often folks just take out their wallets never questioning what it is. You can save plenty by knowing what things are. Now we all know more about this subject and will buy the right stuff or at least ask the right questions.
