Actually, the U.S. is founded on Enlightenment principles, which were very much areligious. And yes, freedom of religion includes freedom FROM religion. The phrase 'endowed by our creator' is not in the constitution. Neither are the following words: jesus, christ, or christian. In fact, the only mention of religion in the constitution is in Article Six when it says there shall be 'no religious test' of any public official. Also, 1st amendment prohibits establishing state religion. ouch
