The actual lyrics end with "on Miami shore."
I like your theory ... Miami Shores was incorporated in 1932 and the song came out in 1935, but I doubt the songwriting team of Burke and Leslie new about the new suburb. Having said that, this is a story that ... if it ISN'T true -- it SHOULD BE!!
