  • I hesitate to post this, but with 30+ years and 20,000+ miles at sea on multihulls, concept design, supervision, & consultation, I'm simply not impressed. The vid is cut - many times - when the boat broaches or plows under, and as a tow-surfer, I don't see 8'-15'. Sorry.

I realize the current cat' craze has everyone scrambling to build one, but a GREAT cat' is truly a remarkable craft.

The boat appears too heavy, or possibly the C/B is a tad off? The 40' seems to have helped this, but...

  • Sorry you wernt impresed, As designer and builder i was driving her during this test, yes the video was cut, but only to show the more interesting bits, she never once broached during the trials, I never once cut the video to mask any moment when the craft was broaching or plowing, and I'm not scrambling to build Cats, this Wildcat design has been in operation for many years, and yes I agree a good Cat is a remarkable thing, maybe if you my google safehavenmarine you might change your mind

  • Fantastic boat frank, what is she powered with, and what would she set you back?

  • She has twin 440hp Yanmars and costs approx £220,000 ex vat

  • how was the deck joint made?

could it do it again without major repairs?

  • She's build tough to survive this abuse, so no problem!

  • I like Your boat Frank, I don't understand why people are argueing over the weather conditions? it is what it is. I live on Anglesey North Wales, they say ''if you can sail round this island you can sail anywhere in the world'' I guess because it is an island with every point possesing different conditions during the same day/weather. hence why some people don't agree with your conditions, where ever we go it looks different despite same conditions, being my point.

  • dam I hate to see that thing tip

  • Plastic Fantastic

    Not more then force 5

Strong tide in opposite direction of the wind.

  • Sorry bloke, but this aint windforce 8.

There is quit some swell, but the wind is no more than force 7!

  • bloody excellent boat handles well

  • I mute...and the video is so much better.....

  • No safehaven boat impressed you while in the water? Is that what you saying? Let us know of a boat that does impress.

  • I actually did visit the site BEFORE I posted. Unlike so many webcrawlers, I don't go off half-cocked.

I thought some of the monohull performance better - and I never go to sea on a mono' if I can help it.

Build quality looks excellent, from what I can tell (your conditions would demand this). Detail and styling, too. Performance? Mmmmm.... Sorry; I don't mean to ruffle feathers, but I'm just not seeing it here.

I'd love to see the whole vid'. Not just "the interesting bits"...
