  • Sounds like Mr Markey did his homework - nice to see that someone is paying attention to details.

  • I like this guy Markey

  • Dude, Markey sounds like a character out of an Ayn Rand novel. When I read Atla shrugged I thought the characters were unrealistic. But day by day I see exact copies of them down to the absurd names.

  • For those of you who don't understand how commodity and trading works this oil will be dumped on the open market we will not be the biggest bidder for the oil china will lol so you want to refine the oil then sell it to them at a fraction being Trans Canada will be the biggest profiteers and we will not solve the problem we made a little money but how will that help our economy

  • @meanmotor74 Wrong. The reason they aren't building it to the west coast is mountains, plus they have a partner in America that is dependable, not commie. Also, if it is refined in America, Americans make a profit (wealth). The refined products will go everywhere, including the USA. If the crude goes to China, it will be some heavy tanker traffic and Canada will have to build a very, very expensive line through a mountain range.

  • @hopeurforfreedom Wrong it's you that is destroying our wealth. That oil is going to be refined in Port Arthur Texas and shipped to anywhere in the world. The reason they aren't building an oil pipeline through B.C. to ship to China is because they've ran into so much opposition to the pipeline from First Nation tribes that they've been effectively stopped. The upper midwest gets screwed as the refineries here get a discount on tar sands since no one else can buy it. You're killing yourself.

  • @xsnrg714 Do you have any idea how many miles of pipelines cross the Ogalalla aquifer? Wealth? Our wealth is disappearing because of people like you. I guess you'd rather see China get the oil and America keep using tankers from unfriendly sources. And don't give that crap about solar, wind or ethanol, because only stupid people think you can power America with those sources.

  • National Security is not going to be able to prevent attacks on this pipeline from enviro or other terrorists wishing to do irreparable damage against the United States should they wish. No one is talking about that. This difbut sludge is nothing to mess with in this manner being attempted across our country.

This is all about reckless wealth controlling all the conditions shoved down our throats.

    Weasals.

  • 97% of the oil produced in Canada is sent to refineries in the USA. The only reason for this pipeline is to open Canada to the world markets. They will certainly then begin to divert oil that currently goes to the refineries in the Midwest to this pipeline where they will be able to sell it on the world market for greater profit. Jobs in the Midwest will be lost or at best relocated to the Gulf Coast, gas prices will rise in the USA and America will be exposed to great environmental risk.

  • This one is easy if Iran disrupts the oil supply is this line in the National Interest? well of course
