  • Here we are, almost to 2012 and looking at this I realize that we once had a TV channel devoted entirely to all kinds of music. Heartbreaking. This interview is very enlightening. I don't think people really knew how sweet of a man Chuck Schuldiner was and what he was really trying to convey with his music. Death will remain one of the most underrated and influential bands in many genres of music.

  • I think that "death metal" as of late has become more about the gore and physicality of dying. All bands talk about now is disembowelment and gore...etc. But when I think about death metal, especially the band Death itself; I think of the spiritual and ethereal process of death, and I like to think that was what Death was about...

  • @AshMonday death is absolutley brilliant. i found the song the philospher on youtube almost 5 years ago. i just recently found the album symbolic from hearing chris adler (drummer from lamb of god) saying it was the most influential album for him. death is now one of my favorite bands. symbolic is my favorite album

  • 3:35 Pink Flowers? lol. Chuck was a great musician and songwriter, and that line suggests he had a good sense of humour. RIP.

  • I don't get how people thinks he sounds gay, there's one interview where he sort of does. But he sounds pretty normal to me in every other interview.

  • fuckin raaad man Rest in Peace Chuck we need more artists like you in these days you're an inspiration to me

  • chuck was such a softly spoken man where did the voice of the devil come from when he sang? anyhow RIP chuck your missed very much missed a true fucking genius

  • @AshMonday I'm not trying to be an asshole to you, but how can a band be both (highly) underrated AND influential? Agree with the rest, 100%. Chuck/Death is way beyond superlatives.

  • Rest In Peace Chuck, you'll forever live through your music and your fans

  • i now understand this, media killed chuck i swear

  • We will never forget!

  • Too. Fucking. Young. RIP.
