http://www.johntallonjones.com This song has bits and pieces from a lot of places such as Vivaldi,Bach, curved Air and strangely, as i was improvising the middle a bit of Slark by Stackridge (an excellent song) I wanted to get it to sound sort of 70's Garage and i hope i succeeded. Effects used was from a Zoom G1x which gave me some echo, delay and a doubler in a couple of places. THe backing track played by me and overdubbed live onto video that's why i look so terrified but got it down second take which is not bad for me.

  • It is loud enough with headphones on,but not deafening, though i tend to play it through an effects unit for some echo. I have never tried it with a mute but i suppose that it's possible.

  • Yes it ia a really great little violin. I use a Zoom Gx effects pedal with just enough reverb to get a nice acoustic sound. pick up is a bit thin and i find if i use the sound control on half it gives a good sound. Weight is surprisingly heavy but the action is good. I want to buy the NS design WAV 4 soon but this is 4 times more expensive. i recomend it as long as you don't expect too much. concert wise it is good if you use a good acoustic amp if you try the Roland Cube 20x

  • How many decibel does it produce when you have headphones on?

Is it possible to play with a metal mute on?

  • Very interested in the violin model. Is it the HBV 840 with the Shadow pickup model? if it is , could you tell me your feedback about the sound, the feel, the confortness of this instrument model? it's cheap on Thomann but is it usable in a concert? Thanx in advance.
